Why I Keep a Human in the Loop for Code, Even When the Agent Is Faster
Speed without review is just a faster way to ship the wrong thing.
An agent can scaffold a feature in minutes, and I've shipped those minutes with a bug I didn't see.
The cost of a wrong autonomous action is higher than the click I save by approving it.
I let it write, then I read the diff like it was written by someone I don't fully trust. Often it earns trust.
For throwaway scripts, full autonomy is fine. For anything that touches data, I stay at the wheel.
The human in the loop isn't slowing you down. It's the part that keeps the loop from spinning into a fire.
