Jasper vs Grammarly: A Ghostwriter and an Editor Walk Into Your Marketing Stack
One writes campaigns from nothing. The other makes everything you write better. I ran the same three emails and a landing page through both and finally understood why teams own both.

De eerlijke vergelijking
Jasper and Grammarly both live in the AI writing category, and the confusion between them is persistent and expensive, because they solve opposite problems. Jasper creates content where none existed. Grammarly improves content you already have. I ran the same assets through both, three lifecycle emails and a landing page, and the experiment ended with a clearer picture than any feature matrix I have read.
Jasper's strengths are scale and consistency. Its brand voice feature, trained on our actual copy, produced first drafts that sounded like our company rather than like AI, and the campaign workflows chained a blog post into emails and social variants without losing the thread. The weaknesses are the generator's eternal ones: every draft needed real editing, clichés crept in whenever I got lazy with briefs, and the pricing assumes you are replacing actual writing labor, because it is priced like a junior hire.
Grammarly creates nothing and that is the point. It sat inside every editor I use, catching the passive constructions I lean on, tightening sentences, and flagging tone mismatches before my emails went out. On the same landing page, Grammarly made a mediocre human draft noticeably better without a single new idea. Its ceiling is exactly its floor: it will never write your first draft, and asking it to generate anything substantial ends in disappointment.
The revealing moment was cost per finished asset. Jasper produced a usable campaign draft in two hours that needed two more hours of human editing. Grammarly added fifteen minutes to work that would have shipped worse without it. Those are different products doing different jobs, and the pricing models reflect it: Jasper is a production tool, Grammarly is a quality tool.
Verdict: if your problem is volume, marketing teams who need campaigns, variants, and drafts to edit, Jasper, with eyes open about the editing load. If your problem is quality, anyone who writes anything and wants it better, Grammarly, which remains the highest-value subscription in its price class. The teams I know who write professionally at scale own both, and after this test I stopped thinking of that as redundancy.
