Tome Quietly Outdoes Synthesia at the Task I Do Daily
Synthesia renders a spokesperson clip without a camera or actor, but Tome export to PowerPoint mangles the layout. I picked by the work, not the hype.

Between clients I tried this so I wouldn't do the boring part by hand. I came to Synthesia because renders a spokesperson clip without a camera or actor. That part delivered.
By Thursday, Tome weaves AI images into a narrative deck as you type. cropped my chart
Neither is clean. Synthesia the avatars blink on a schedule that feels off. Tome export to PowerPoint mangles the layout. You feel both within a day.
My call: Tome for 'pitch decks that need visuals fast' -- it's the one I trust there. Synthesia takes 'training and explainer video at scale', where its quirk matters less. Plenty of people flip this; I didn't, because the failure mode of Synthesia costs me more.
I'll reuse it on the next repetitive gig.
