Cursor sits inside the code editor and proposes diffs I can accept or reject. Notion AI sits inside the doc and proposes sentences. I keep both open because by 3pm I've written a function and a spec and they're different kinds of writing that need different tools.

Cursor's value is context: it sees the file, the imports, the test that's failing. Notion AI sees none of that; it sees prose and a blinking cursor. Asking Notion AI to fix a bug is like asking a spellchecker to drive. Asking Cursor to write your design doc gives you code-shaped thinking.

The real workflow is a loop. I draft the plan in Notion with AI help, move to Cursor to build it, then paste the messy result back to Notion for the writeup. Each tool owns its medium. The handoff is me, and that's fine, because the handoff is the thinking part.

Keep Cursor if you ship code. Keep Notion AI if you write docs. If your week is both, dropping either just moves work back to your head. They're not rivals. They're a workshop and an office in the same building.
