Prep for interviews with Teal — build an answer bank from the actual job description

Generic interview prep produces generic answers. Teal's job-description matching tells you which six questions are coming — and your stories should be aimed at them.

Most interview prep fails by being general: rehearsing strengths, weaknesses and a star story or two, aimed at a job you haven't specified. The interview you actually have asks questions the posting already telegraphed. Teal's workflow turns that posting into a prep sheet — the questions are predictable if you read the requirements as a list of coming questions.

Start by running the target job through Teal's match feature with your resume. The keyword gaps it shows are not just resume advice — each gap is an interview question in disguise. 'The posting emphasizes cross-team leadership and your resume says collaboration once' means 'tell me about leading across teams' is coming, and right now your best answer doesn't exist yet.

Build the answer bank around the gaps. For each major requirement, write one story using the actual structure that survives nerves: situation in one sentence, what you did in two, the measurable result in one, and a closing line about what you'd do differently. Teal's AI helps pressure-test — paste your story and ask 'what would a skeptical interviewer push on here?' The follow-up questions are where interviews are won, and they're rehearsed almost never.

The company-specific layer goes in Teal's notes: their product launches, funding, the interviewer's recent posts. Don't decorate your answers with it — use it for the questions you ask at the end. 'You shipped X in March, how is that going?' lands better than any rehearsed strength, and it's evidence you read past the careers page.

The night before: read the answer bank out loud, once. Not memorized — memorized answers sound canned and shatter under a follow-up. Out loud once means the shape lives in your mouth, and the follow-ups find a person who actually did the things. That's the whole trick: the posting told you the questions. You arrived with stories aimed at them.
