I Stopped Using AI for Creative Work and Got Less Done, Then Better

I'd been generating first drafts of everything and editing the sludge. Volume was high, memory was low.

I cut the model out of the open and wrote the bad first draft myself, the way I used to.

The first week was slower and the results were rougher, but I remembered why I'd written them.

Now I bring the model in after the idea exists, to extend or check it, not to birth it.

Creative work needs a bad draft from me before it deserves a good one from a machine.
