AWS Infinity Is the Quiet Infrastructure Agents Were Missing

AWS open-sourced Infinity, a runtime for agents that spend most of their time waiting on builds, approvals, or long pull requests. It sounds narrow. It is actually the thing that makes agent scale affordable.

Most agent designs keep every loop resident in memory, which gets ruinous the moment you run thousands of them. Infinity lets them idle cheaply, so concurrency stops being a tax.

This is the unglamorous layer that decides whether agents are a demo or a platform. Clever prompts do not scale; cheap waiting does.

I would rather the industry open-source plumbing like this than ship another chatbot. The boring parts are what let the exciting parts run at volume.
