Stop Paying for Synthesia If You Only Do What Fireflies Does Free

I don't care about features I'll never touch. I care about the one I'll use daily.

I put Synthesia and Fireflies through the same video tasks last month instead of reading another ranked list.

Fireflies auto-joins your calls and tags the action items. Synthesia looks uncanny the moment you stare at the face. Neither is broken; they argue about different things.

Where they overlap, Synthesia makes a talking-head video with an avatar that doesn't yawn. Fireflies auto-joins your calls and tags the action items. I kept both installed for a reason.

Synthesia makes a talking-head video with an avatar that doesn't yawn. Fireflies writes summaries that miss the one decision everyone cared about - that gap showed up the moment I asked for the weird edge case.

If you companies mass-producing training videos, keep Synthesia. If you teams who never take notes on purpose, Fireflies is the one. I landed on Synthesia after a week of switching back and forth.

The avatar lip-sync is scary good in short clips. It will happily record a call you forgot it was in.

Both are in my stack now, doing different jobs. That's fine.
