My first question is always 'can I verify this?' So I did. I came to Pictory because chops a webinar into shorts with captions already on. That part delivered.
On closer inspection, Ideogram renders readable text inside the image, which most generators botch. spelled 'SALE' as '5ALE'
Neither is clean. Pictory picks the dullest 30 seconds as the hook. Ideogram the hands still look like a mime having a seizure. You feel both within a day.
My call: Ideogram for 'posters and quotes with words in them' -- it's the one I trust there. Pictory takes 'recycling long video into clips', where its quirk matters less. Plenty of people flip this; I didn't, because the failure mode of Pictory costs me more.
Useful for triage, dangerous for conclusions.
