I went in expecting to be sold to.

OpenAI added a 500-dollar Pro plan this month. The pitch is more allowance and an Ultrafast tier. The question is who actually needs it.

What actually happened: For me the math only works if I am generating code or media all day, every day. Most people are not, and the 20-dollar tier covers them.

Turns out, If you are eyeing it, track your real usage for a week first. The plan you want is the one your logs justify, not the one the launch video sells.

I am keeping it, but I am not thrilled.
