Perplexity Compared Two Papers So I Didn't Have To
It surfaced the disagreements between studies. I still opened the originals.
I asked Perplexity to compare two studies on the same treatment and summarize where they agreed and where they split. The inline sources made it easy to jump to each claim.
On a follow-up the model wandered and once cited a page that had moved. So I only quote what it pointed to, never the answer itself.
For anything I'll cite, Perplexity is a triage layer. It gets me to the right documents fast; the verification is still my job.
Search didn't die. The first pass got shorter, and the check got more important.
