The AI Summary That Cited Nothing
My favorite AI summarizer gave me a clean paragraph with zero sources. I learned to ask for the receipts.
I asked a tool to summarize a long article and got a confident three-sentence version. Smooth. Then I checked a claim it made - it wasn't in the source. The model had filled a gap with a guess.
Now I require citations or I don't trust the summary. Perplexity's sourced answers spoiled me; once you've seen a claim with a link, the naked paragraph feels hollow.
Summaries without sources aren't summaries. They're plausible fiction with your name on the share button.
If the tool can't show its work, treat its output as a draft, not a fact.
