Descript Lets Me Edit Audio by Deleting Text
Cut the transcript, cut the audio. Overdub drifts on long sentences.
I edited a podcast by deleting words in the transcript instead of razor-ing the timeline. Removing a 'um' took a keypress, not a zoom.
Overdub is good for short fixes but drifts on sentences over ten words, so I re-record long corrections myself and use overdub only for a word or two.
The 'filler word' auto-remove is aggressive; I review each cut so it doesn't eat a real pause.
Use Descript for the edit, your mic for the fixes. The transcript is the timeline now.
