Catching a webhook in Zapier and writing it to Google Sheets without crying
The Catch Hook step is the piece most people skip. Here is the minimal loop that appends a row on every call.
I wanted a public form to drop leads into a sheet without a database. The clean path is a Zapier Catch Hook feeding a Google Sheets append. The part that trips people is the webhook URL and the field mapping, so I will spell both out.
Step one: start a Zap with the Webhooks trigger, choose 'Catch Hook'. Zapier gives you a URL. That URL is your endpoint. Anything POSTed to it becomes the trigger sample.
Step two: send one test payload to that URL from your form or curl so Zapier captures the fields. If you skip this, the mapping step has nothing to bind to and you will stare at empty options.
