The Agent That Booked My Flight Wrong
I let an AI agent handle a booking. It did, confidently, and wrong. The lesson wasn't about the agent.
I asked an agent to book the cheaper flight with a carry-on. It picked one that looked cheaper but charged for the bag, and landed at the wrong airport for my meeting. It followed my words, not my intent.
The failure was mine: I gave a vague goal and trusted the machine to resolve it. Agents are great at execution and terrible at the assumptions you didn't state.
Now I give agents narrow, checked steps and verify the consequential ones. Booking a flight is consequential. I verify it.
Delegate the doing, keep the deciding. Especially when money and geography are involved.
