The Resume Screener Reading Your CV Is Also AI. Write for Both.

A human sees your resume only if a scanner passes it. The words that satisfy the bot are the words a person expects too.

Most resumes are filtered by software before a person blinks. That's not news, but the trick is that the same keywords a scanner wants are usually the words a hiring manager expects. Writing for the bot and writing for the human aren't opposites; they're the same edit done once.

The failure is vocabulary drift. You call it 'customer success,' the posting says 'account management,' and the scanner scores you low on a synonym. Mirroring the posting's language isn't gaming the system, it's speaking the reader's language, and the reader is also using that language to think.

What doesn't work is stuffing. A resume that repeats the keyword until it hums is as readable as spam, and the human who finally sees it notices. The bot wants the term present; the person wants it used with sense. Both are satisfied by one real, specific bullet.

So write the truth, in the words the job uses. The scanner and the manager are reading for the same signal; give it to them plainly and you stop losing to a synonym.
