ElevenLabs at $22B Means Voice Cloning Is a Real Business

A $300M tender valuing ElevenLabs at $22B, with agents at 55% of revenue, says voice is infrastructure, not a gimmick.

ElevenLabs closed a 300 million dollar employee tender that values the company at 22 billion, roughly double its February number, and its ElevenAgents platform now accounts for 55% of revenue. The story isn't 'voice cloning is cool.' It's that synthetic voice became plumbed into how businesses talk to customers.

The agent number is the tell. Voice stopped being a novelty you drop into a video and became the interface layer for automated phone and support work. When more than half a voice company's revenue is agents, the product is infrastructure, not a party trick, and infrastructure gets valued like this.

For builders, the signal is that the boring voice use cases, IVR replacements, training narration, localized dubbing, are where the money consolidated. The flashy 'clone a celebrity' demo was never the business. The quiet 'sound professional without a studio' was.

I read the valuation as a marker, not a moonshot. Voice cloning crossed from impressive to operational this year, and the market priced the operational part. If you're building with audio, that's the lane that compounds.
