La comparación honesta

I built a pitch deck with Tome's generation and Claude's writing in alternating passes. Tome would sketch a flow with images; Claude would rewrite the narration so each slide actually argued something. Alone, Tome gave me a pretty tour; alone, Claude gave me a script with no visuals. Together they finished faster than I do solo.

Tome's strength is the 'and here's a visual' reflex. It drops a diagram or a photo where a paragraph would bog down, which is what decks are for. Its weakness is the same as every auto-deck: it fills space confidently even when the point is thin. That's where Claude's pass earns its keep.

My loop: Tome drafts the spine, Claude critiques the spine ('slide 3 claims X without evidence, add a number or cut it'), Tome adjusts. The critique step is the one I used to skip and then pay for in feedback. Claude doesn't make the slides pretty; it makes them defensible.

The risk is over-polishing. Twice I let Claude rewrite a Tome line into something smarter than I'd say out loud, and in the room it rang false. I now keep Claude's edits only when they're things I'd defend live. The tool can write above my head; the audience notices.

Verdict: Tome for the frame, Claude for the sense. Use one without the other and you get either a strong argument in a plain doc or a gorgeous deck that goes nowhere.
