La comparación honesta
Fireflies is a passive recorder that joins calls and returns transcripts, summaries, and action items. Synthesia is an active presenter: you hand it a script and it returns a video of an avatar saying it. One listens, one speaks.
I used Fireflies to capture a messy strategy call, then Synthesia to turn the three takeaways into a tidy 60-second update for the team who missed it. Fireflies told me what was said; Synthesia told others what to remember.
They are not interchangeable and barely overlap. You would never use Synthesia to record a live discussion, and Fireflies won't star in your training library. The connection is purely that both touch 'communication.'
Verdict: want a record of real conversations, Fireflies. Want a polished video of a message, Synthesia. Together they cover capture and delivery.
