While building a small feature, I stopped opening browser docs and started asking Perplexity for the API shape and the gotcha. It cited sources, which mattered when the first answer was stale.
Cursor wrote the implementation against that answer and ran it. When it broke, I pasted the error back into Perplexity rather than digging through forums.
The catch: Perplexity is occasionally confidently outdated, and Cursor will happily code to a wrong assumption. I still verify the load-bearing facts against the official docs before shipping.
Verdict: understand the library -> Perplexity. write the code -> Cursor. verify before you commit.
