Cold Emails That Don't Sound Like a Robot
The AI draft is the starting point, not the send button. Here's the three-pass routine that keeps it human.
The AI draft is the starting point, not the send button. Here's the three-pass routine that keeps it human.
Pass one: ask for a plain version with no praise words and no 'I hope this finds you well.' You want the bones, not the fluff.
Pass two: cut every sentence that could be from any company. Replace generic claims with one specific detail about the recipient's work.
Pass three: read it aloud. If you'd wince saying it, rewrite that line in your own voice. The goal is a message a person wrote fast, not a machine wrote well.
The pitfall is over-editing until it's bland again. Stop at 'good enough that a human would believe a human wrote it.'
