Fireflies Pulled the Action Items I'd Have Forgotten

Our standups ended with a vague 'we'll handle it,' and half of it evaporated by noon. Fireflies now joins, transcribes, and extracts action items with owners, and pushes them to our task tool.

The setup was one connection to the calendar and the task app. After each meeting, a summary lands with 'who owns what' already parsed, so the follow-up isn't a separate meeting about the meeting.

It's not flawless. It sometimes assigns an action to the wrong person when two people sounded similar. I glance the owner column once before trusting it, a five-second check that prevents a missed handoff.

The change was cultural. Knowing the bot is listening makes people state commitments clearly, 'I'll send the draft by Thursday,' instead of mumbling. The tool improved the meeting, not just the notes.

If your team's work leaks between meetings, let a bot own the capture. Humans are bad at remembering who said what; software isn't, and that's a fair trade.
