I Shipped an Internal Tool on Replit and Forgot the Server Existed

Replit's deploy button turns a script into a URL. No VPS, no nginx, no 2am pager for a tool nobody pays for.

I needed a tiny tool to reformat CSVs my team kept emailing me. Normally that means a server, a domain, a deploy pipeline, and a quiet dread that it'll break. Replit's deploy gave me a URL in one click and handled the hosting. The tool exists; I don't maintain it.

The part that surprised me: I could iterate in the browser editor, hit deploy, and the live version updated. No SSH, no build server, no 'works on my machine.' For an internal tool used by five people, that's the entire infrastructure I needed and none of the one I didn't.

Limits are real. Heavy workloads or weird runtimes fight Replit's model, and you'll feel the ceiling. But for the class of tool that's 'a script with a button,' it removes the excuse of 'I'd have to host it.'

If you've been sitting on a small automation because hosting felt like a project, build it in Replit and deploy. The server you don't run is the server you don't wake up for.
