Tome Turned a Boring Update Into a Scroll People Finished
Our monthly update was a wall of Slack messages nobody read. I dropped the points into Tome and it became a scroll people finished.
Our monthly update was a wall of Slack messages nobody read. I dropped the key points into Tome and it turned them into a scrollable story with images, which people actually finished.
Tome leans cinematic, so it suits a narrative more than a status grid. For 'here's what shipped and why it matters,' the scroll format kept attention better than a slide deck everyone screenshots and ignores.
I kept it short on purpose. Tome makes it easy to add sections, and I had to resist turning an update into a keynote. Three beats, one takeaway each, done.
The images are AI-generated and a little generic, so I swapped in two real screenshots. Specific beats pretty every time, and a product update should show the product.
For internal narratives, Tome. For data-dense status, a normal deck. I matched the medium to the message and readership went up, which is the only metric that counts.
